'A number of legendary racing moments have occurred at the Dixie Vodka 400. Tony Stewart won the first event in 1999. He also set the record for most wins by a rookie during that same race. In 2001, Bill Elliott ended his 226-race winless streak, the longest streak in between race wins in racing history. Elliott's good fortune was not repeated in 2003, when Bobby Labonte eked out a win over Elliott after a flat tire on the last lap. With so many history-making moments throughout the Dixie Vodka 400's tenure and its status as the last race of the season, it has become one of the classic racing events in NASCAR.'
