Dover Motor Speedway at Bally's Dover Casino Resort - Complex
Established in 1969, Dover International Speedway is one of the top venues for
NASCAR
racing in the nation. Located in Dover, Delaware, it is home to multiple races each year as well as concerts and other events. Sometimes called the Monster, it is a one-mile track with 24-degree banking on the turns and 9-degree banking on the straightaways. Mark Dinsmore and Brad Keselowski hold the records for the fastest trips around the track with times of 19.711 and 21.892 seconds. You can get
Monster Mile
tickets and watch as other racers attempt to beat those records. The best place to get your Dover International Speedway tickets is at StubHub.
Dover International Speedway has a total seating capacity of 85,000. During the 2009 off-season, the owners of the track removed some seating to make room for new food and drink options and to set aside more space for the fans who camp at the track.
Several parking lots are available on-site for guests. You can park in any of the outdoor lots and enjoy some of the tailgating festivities before the race begins. These lots are also close to the Fan Zone, which offers meet and greet events with racers and stalls that sell merchandise. If you want to avoid the crowds and traffic, you can also park at the Christiana Mall. A shuttle runs from the mall to the track from 8:00 a.m. until the race ends.
Whether you come to the track for a race or to see a band like
Death Cab for Cutie
, you'll find plenty of food and drink options. Local food trucks set up both inside and outside the facility, making it easy for you to grab a slice of pizza and a cold drink. There are also track-owned restaurants inside the facility that offer beer and other alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as well as snacks and meals.
Dover International Speedway is both wheelchair friendly and ADA-accessible. Several lots near the main entrance to the track have handicap parking spots available. Those lots are all first-come, first-serve. Golf cart shuttles transport those with special needs from the entrance to their seats and other areas of the track. The shuttle is free to use. Dover also has ramps and elevators that guests can use and seats designed for those with disabilities.
The best seats here depend on what you want to see. Some love sitting right on the straightaway near the start/finish line that lets them see the winner in real time. Others like sitting on turns three and four because the high banking gives them an eagle eye view of the track. Dover offers general admission seating during concerts and events too. With one of these Dover International Speedway tickets, you can pick the best place to watch the show.
