Denis Leary hails from Massachusetts and discovered his comedic and acting talents while at Emerson College in Boston. He thrived while starting the Emerson Comedy Workshop with other collegiate comedians. After graduating, he started teaching at Emerson, but then he moved to New York City to pursue standup. He became a writer and performer on Colin Quinn's show Remote Control in the late 1980s, sparking his rise. Even though he is busy with his various projects, he is able to schedule theater tickets for live standup acts.
