The doors of the
Bob Carpenter Center
opened in 1992. The Bob is the home of both the men's and women's basketball teams at the University of Delaware. The venue is also used for a number of other local events.
''The arena features four seating sections and uses mostly chairback seats. There is also an older set of bleachers that fans use when the crowds are close to capacity. Fans who attend a Fightin' Blue Hens basketball home game will be entertained by a good pep band. The cheerleaders and dance team can be seen on the new video system in the arena, and the team mascot, TrayDee, is always available for fun and laughter whenever there is a lull in the action.'

The progress with Inglesby as coach of the Fightin' Blue Hens began immediately as the team won 13 games, including a game in the CAA Tournament, Inglesby's first year in charge. The team enjoyed a 14-win season and another victory in the CAA Tournament the following year. A year ago, the Fightin' Blue Hens made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament by mounting the largest second-half comeback in Colonial Athletic Association Tournament history. The success of the team earned Ingelsby a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Newark, Del., at least through the 2023-2024 college basketball season.'
