The season concluded with a 35-14 loss to Winnipeg in the Western Division semifinal round. After touchdowns from Bo Levi Mitchell and Reginald Begelton, Calgary trailed Winnipeg by only a single score entering the final quarter. However, Winnipeg scored the final 20 points of the game to clinch the victory and advance to the division final.'

'Calgary shares a rivalry with the fellow Albertan team the Edmonton Eskimos. Separated by approximately 300 kilometers, the two teams play each other several times each year, including at the annual Labour Day Classic. 'Dave Dickenson has been the head coach of Calgary since 2016. Before then, he served as the running back coach, the quarterback coach and the offensive coordinator for the Stampeders since 2009. During his professional playing career, Dickenson was a member of several NFL teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. At both ends of his playing career, Dickenson had brief stints in Calgary between 1997 and 2000 and again in 2008. He attended the University of Montana for college and won the conference MVP three times.'
