The Calgary Roughnecks came onto the

National Lacrosse League

in 2001 after a franchise expansion. Canadian businessman Brad Banister owned the franchise until June 14, 2011. Banister is credited for building the Roughnecks into the powerhouse it is today. He has also received a great deal of credit for attracting and signing top-tier players like Kaleb Toth and Lewis Ratcliff to the team. In 2011, the Calgary Flames Ltd. purchased the Calgary Roughnecks.

Scotiabank Saddledome

is a multipurpose arena that was built in 1983. In addition to serving as the home for Calgary Roughnecks, this multipurpose arena is also home to the Calgary Stampede, Calgary Hitmen and the Calgary Flames. Before the name change in 2010, the facility was formerly known as Canadian Airline Saddledome (2000-2010), Canadian Airlines Saddledome (1995-2000) and Olympic Saddledome (1983-1995). Scotiabank Saddledome comfortably seats 19,500 fans. The facility is equipped with premium seating, which includes private executing suites. The Saddledome has ample parking to accommodate fans who arrive by car, truck, SUV or camper.
