Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Built in 1915, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is located at the heart of Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco and holds 8,500 people. The auditorium hosted the 1920 Democratic National Convention, the 1948 National AAU boxing trials and the
San Francisco Opera
from 1923 to 1932. The auditorium has also hosted sports events. It was home of the
San Francisco Warriors
from 1964 to 1967. In 1991, rock promoter Bill Graham died in a helicopter crash, and the venue was renamed in his honor. The auditorium has hosted a wide variety of events like Barnum & Bailey circuses, dog shows, car shows and wrestling matches. Later, the events shifted to music concerts, showcasing artists from different genres. Musicians including
The 1975
and
Massive Attack
have played here. To catch an eclectic night of music, purchase Bill Graham Civic Auditorium tickets at StubHub.
The center seats in the orchestra section and in the loge section will probably give you the best view of the event. For concerts, there is a standing only section at the front, right by the stage.
For Bill Graham Civic Auditorium events, you can bring personal bags, personal cameras, small personal food items and refillable water bottles. However, you cannot bring professional still cameras with detachable lenses. Although you can bring your phone, you cannot bring any tablets or iPads. There are quite a few gourmet options near the venue. Within walking distance, you'll find Souvla, The Beer Hall, Hazel Southern Bar & Kitchen, Paxti's Pizza, Sam's Diner, Corridor Restaurant & Cafe, RT Rotisserie and The Market.
