NCAA Tournament
, and one made it to the Final Four. Multiple teams from the conference typically rank among the NCAA’s top 25 and play in nationally televised games throughout each season. Nearly 40 players from the Big Ten currently play on NBA rosters.
All 14 Big Ten schools compete in this tournament and throughout the collegiate basketball season. Schools include Michigan State University, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, Purdue University, The Ohio State University, University of Minnesota, Indiana University, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois, Rutgers University, Penn State University, University of Nebraska and Northwestern University.
Located in scenic downtown Indianapolis, Banker’s Life Fieldhouse is an indoor arena that is home to the NBA’s Indiana Pacers and the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. It also hosts many major sporting and entertainment events annually. Opened in 1999, it accommodates nearly 18,000 fans for basketball events.
This is a downtown venue, so parking is available in private lots and metered areas, where tailgating is discouraged. There are several concession areas and bars inside the facility where fans can gather to enjoy beverages and food. If you want your group to gather earlier or later than arena hours, then downtown Indianapolis offers a host of nearby bars, breweries and restaurants to suit your needs.
Conference sports tournaments attract each school’s student population, alumni and other fan bases from all over the country and beyond. You’ll witness fun and passionate spirit with many fans dressed in school colors and other attire. Pep bands lead school chants and add to the excitement. Every Big Ten school boasts large student and alumni populations, so you can expect Banker’s Life Fieldhouse to reflect this.
