'The Arizona Rattlers are a professional football team that competes in the Indoor Football League. The Rattlers began their play as an expansion team in 1992 as a member of the Arena Football League. The Rattlers are the winners of 10 division titles and won five of the nine Arena Bowl Championship games they played in. The Rattlers announced their planned departure from the AFL on Oct. 17, 2016. They began their play in the IFL at the beginning of the 2017 season. The league debut for the Rattlers was against the defending champion Sioux Falls Storm on Feb. 17, 2017. The Rattlers lost to the Storm 40-29. Five months later, the Rattlers faced the Storm again. This time the league championship was on the line. 'Kevin Guy was named coach of the Arizona Rattlers Aug. 10, 2007. Guy coached the Rattlers to three consecutive Arena Bowl Championships in the AFL from 2012 to 2014. The Rattlers did not skip a beat under Guy when the team moved to the IFL in 2017. Guy coached the team to a United Bowl victory during their first year of play in the league.'

'Shedrick Bonner is one of the most successful players to ever play in the AFL. Bonner was the quarterback for the Rattlers for 14 seasons and threw for more than 42,000 yards. He also ended his career with a 115.9 passer rating and 855 touchdowns. Bonner led the Rattlers to five appearances in the Arena Bowl Championship game. The Rattlers won two championships with Bonner behind the center. Hunkie Cooper spent 13 years as a wide receiver for the Arizona Rattlers. Cooper was voted the league's most valuable player in his rookie year. He has also been ranked as the fifth-best player to ever play in the Arena Football League. Randy Gatewood was a Rattlers player from 1996-2007. The list of accolades accumulated by Gatewood includes being named to the first-team All-Arena team three times.
